The Padrão dos Descobrimentos viewpoint will host the official team presentation of the 87th Volta a Portugal Jogos Santa Casa this Tuesday at 18:30, in one of the events that symbolically marks the start of Portugal’s biggest cycling race.

During the ceremony, the 17 teams that will compete in this year’s race between 5 and 16 August will be presented, bringing together squads from six countries and all three of the top tiers of international cycling.

The team parade will begin at 18:38 with Meridian Racing p/b De La Uz and conclude at 19:42 with the presentation of Anicolor/Campicarn, winners of the last two editions of the Volta a Portugal.

Among the main highlights of the 2026 edition are the participation of UAE Team Emirates XRG, the current leaders of the UCI World Ranking, the ProTeams Euskaltel-Euskadi and Burgos Burpellet BH, as well as NSN Development Team, one of the breakthrough teams of last year’s race.

The ceremony will feature an address by Vasco Anjos, Lisbon City Councillor for Sport, as the Portuguese capital prepares to host the opening prologue of the race on Wednesday. The programme also includes the presentation of the official vehicle of the 87th Volta a Portugal Jogos Santa Casa, with the participation of Francisco Cabral, Marketing and Communications Director of Ebro Portugal.

Following the team presentation, Volta a Portugal Race Director Ezequiel Mosquera and Portuguese Cycling Federation President Cândido Barbosa, representing the race organisers, will take to the stage.

The 87th Volta a Portugal Jogos Santa Casa will take place from 5 to 16 August, linking Lisbon and Porto over 12 days of racing. The route includes a prologue, nine road stages and an individual time trial, covering a total of 1,429 kilometres across 71 municipalities in 15 districts.
